Jake was from our breeding of our CH. Happy Tails Chelsea Harann (Chelsea) to CH Dorratz Double Trouble UD MH NA VC CGC TDI ROM (Toby) .  As a pup he was gangly, goofy and demonstrated the attribute of a Velcro dog. My ugly duckling matured quite late at about 3 yrs into a beautiful dog. He was tall with a beautiful deep rust coat. He was born to hunt. I would watch and marvel as he covered a field in minutes. His speed and grace combined with keen sense of smell, precision and steadiness set him apart. He had an innate trust of people. My gentle giant accepted direction, grateful to please. For example once we brought him to the emergency room for a large laceration of his leg, he allowed the Vet to staple it closed without anesthetic. Jake just buried his head in my armpit and gave the doctor a kiss for a job well done. After he finished his senior hunter, we decided to try him in conformation. He swept 4-day weekend with all majors and finished his Championship in one weekend. Before he retired with my son in Montana he sired two special litters, one was with Tara and the other her daughter Nica. These "get" produced numerous champions in confirmation and hunting further establishing the Happy Tails line. Jake has passed on, but he will always be our most special boy.
