Welcome to Happy Tails Vizslas!

My family and I have been breeding Vizslas since 1981. Each year we become more enamored with this extraordinary breed. We became involved with Vizslas quite serendipitously. It all started in February 1991 when I attended the Madison Square Garden Westminster dog show. I happened upon a ring as these beautiful, elegant yet athletic dogs entered. They stood staked with an evident pride. I could not take my eyes off of them as each floated around the ring. As their judging concluded I made my way to where they were benched. I approached each Vizsla cautiously not knowing what to expect. Each one gave unsolicited in your face loving kisses I spent rest of the day and evening with breeders, handlers and owners learning the profile that made up the exceptional Vizsla. The breeders were transparent in their commitment, affection and devotion to this breed. Preserving and improving what was the best in the Vizsla was the common ground shared. Concurring with these goals I had no doubt the Vizsla was the breed I actually sought. Agreeing that a puppy needs to be in a supportive environment to thrive with 100% of the family committed to their dog. An appointment was made for my family to spend a day with a vizsla breeder. My family’s decision? Unanimous!

Our Chelsea was born on Mother’s Day and came home on my birthday in July. She was every thing we hoped for. She was smart enough to make each of us feel she was our dog. She was pretty enough to take sweeps in a specialty show before she was one. She accomplished her Champion title with ease with help from the breeders. By the time she was a couple of months old my son Eric coined the name Happy Tails to be our Kennel name. Chelsea’s non-stop wagging had been his inspiration
